Recognizing that Black Digital Humanities is a field that is interdisciplinary, intersectional, and expansive, we welcome scholars whose work addresses one or more of the following topics: Black DH, Critical Black Data Studies, or other topics that are situated at the intersection of the humanities, digital technologies, and a Black epistemological schema. Scholars working in areas such as African Diaspora Studies, Black Internationalism, Black Transnationalism, Global Black Studies, and related fields within the digital humanities are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be appointed by the Department of Africana Studies and the Cogut Institute for the Humanities and affiliated with the Center for Digital Scholarship. The incumbent will teach one digital humanities course per semester. These will be listed by Africana Studies and cross-listed with the Cogut Institute, and will be considered for inclusion in the list of approved courses for the Doctoral Certificate in Digital Humanities. The incumbent will also be expected to participate in the Cogut Institute's weekly Tuesday research seminar as well as other activities.
The appointment will begin on July 1, 2024. The fellow will be employed as postdoctoral research associates with a $65,000 salary, standard benefits, and a $2,000 per year reimbursable research fund.
