Biography
Kiana Knight received her bachelor’s degree with honors in history from North Carolina Central University and a master’s degree in history from the University of Pittsburgh. Her dissertation, “Translating Racial Uplift: Black Women, Language, and Internationalist Politics, 1918-1965” explores Black bilingual women’s activism in the United States, Central America, and the Caribbean. She is the managing editor for the African American Intellectual Historical Society’s award-winning blog, “Black Perspectives.” Her scholarly interests include Public History, Black Transnational Feminisms, Black Internationalism, and the African Diaspora.
